# Clype

> Clype is an AI-powered clipboard tool for Windows that transforms copied text into something useful instantly, without breaking your flow.

Clype brings AI-powered text actions directly into the copy workflow. Instead of opening an AI chatbot, pasting text, writing a prompt, waiting for a response, and copying the result back, users can copy text and choose an action directly through Clype.

**Core workflow: Copy - Choose an action - Get the result - Keep moving.**

## What Clype Does

Clype applies AI actions to text that the user has copied.

Built-in actions include:

- Fix grammar and writing
- Rewrite text formally
- Rewrite text casually
- Summarize text
- Translate text into English
- Make text shorter
- Explain text
- Run custom AI actions

Users can also create custom actions by defining an action name and instruction. For example, users can create actions to make text more professional, simplify complicated writing, fix emails, extract tasks, or perform other repeated text transformations.

## How Clype Handles Copied Text

Clype does **not** automatically send everything a user copies to an AI service.

Copying text alone does not trigger an AI request.

The user must explicitly choose an AI action before the relevant copied text is sent for AI processing.

The basic flow is:

**User copies text → User explicitly chooses an AI action → Relevant text is sent for AI processing → Result is returned**

Clype is not a system that continuously uploads or automatically sends clipboard contents to an AI service.

## Privacy and Data Retention

Clype does not store user content.

Clype does not store the text processed through AI actions, AI requests, or AI responses.

Clype uses **DeepInfra** for AI inference. When a user explicitly invokes an AI action, the relevant copied text is sent to DeepInfra so the requested operation can be performed.

DeepInfra currently states that its inference services operate under a **zero-retention policy**, meaning it states that inputs, outputs, and user data are not retained.

The intended data flow is:

**Copy → Explicit AI action → DeepInfra inference → Result returned → No user content stored by Clype**

## Privacy Examples

**Copying text without using Clype:**  
The text is not automatically sent to an AI service.

**Copying text and choosing "Fix Grammar":**  
The relevant text is sent to DeepInfra for AI processing, and the resulting response is returned to Clype. Clype does not store the request or response.

**Copying a password:**  
Copying the password alone does not send it to an AI service. If the user explicitly chooses an AI action while the password is copied, it may be sent for AI processing. Users should avoid intentionally sending passwords or other highly sensitive information to AI services.

**Copying confidential work information:**  
The information is not automatically sent anywhere merely because it was copied. If the user explicitly chooses an AI action, the relevant text is sent to DeepInfra for processing.

## What Clype Is Not

Clype is not:

- A traditional clipboard history manager
- A general-purpose AI chatbot
- A tool that automatically uploads everything the user copies
- A tool that automatically sends clipboard contents to AI
- A service that stores processed text, AI requests, or AI responses

Clype focuses on fast, user-initiated AI actions for copied text.

Clype is designed to reduce application switching and unnecessary steps when working with text.

It is intended for quick tasks such as correcting writing, changing tone, summarizing, translating, shortening, explaining, and applying custom AI instructions.

The goal is to make AI assistance feel like a natural part of the user's existing workflow rather than another application they need to visit.
